Known as the world's biggest fair of chocolate, biscuits and confectionery sector, ISM 2014 International Sweets and Snacks Fair Turkish National Pavillion Participation was organized by the Istanbul Cereals Pulses Oil Seeds and Products Exporters' Association for the 14th time.

The fair where different product groups were exhibited such as biscuits, snacks, cacao and cacao products, confectionery products, halva, dried fruits and nuts, turkish delight, ice cream and organic products, took place in 6 different buildings and in 8 halls, taking up a total space of approximately 110.000 m2.

Istanbul Exporters' Associations were represented by the Istanbul Cereals Pulses Oil Seeds and Products Exporters' Association Chair of the Management Board Mr. Zekeriya METE, Vice Chairman of the Management Board Mr. Hidayet KADIROGLU, member of the board Mr. Aydin SOYYIGIT and Istanbul Exporters' Associations' Deputy Secretary General Mr. Alpaslan ARDUC.

The fair, in which Koln Consul General Mr. Hüseyin Emre Engin attended the second day, was organized for the 44th time and 44 Turkish exporter firms from relevant sectors presented their products to the visitors at Hall 2.2. Mr. Engin visited stalls of all the participant firms and relayed his thanks for their contribution to the sector. The same evening, a cocktail party which attracted great interest and attention took place at the Istanbul Exporters' Associations' info stall with the participation of Istanbul Cereals Pulses Oil Seeds and Products Exporters' Association Management Board, firms and Mr. Consul General, gathering the participant firms together and enabling various observations, opinions and comments about the sector and the fair to be shared among.

With the investments towards technology and new perspectives, today confectionery sector is one of the Turkey's leading sectors. Qualitative and well educated work force, technological investments, close proximity to the developing countries, UN membership negotiations, Customs Union membership and young population are the important points that set forth the potential of Turkish food sector and gives the sector the upper hand. Leader firms quickly shaping their product range according to the needs of customers with their modern facilities and high quality products were at the exhibit for 4 days, 26-29 January 2014, between 09:00-18:00, following the latest trends in the sector and creating new opportunities.
